No, really.
I know, I know. I've been neglecting you all, and I'm sorry. Ever since work started for me, it's been hard for me to keep this thing updated.
I'll try harder!
What were you afraid of as a child that seems silly to you now?
Submitted by navelgazer.
When I was a little girl, I was worried about monsters in my closet. This isn't an unusual fear for a child to have, of course, but my parents were highly creative.
My mom and dad bought a Glade Stick-Up air freshener. They told me it was a monster repellent.
You know, I never had a problem with those pesky monsters again.
Not much going on around the Casa de Neko.
Saturday, I got a call from my friends Don and Pam. They were in town for an arts festival and since they don't know San Francisco, they asked if we'd come down and go to dinner with them. We did, and we had a fantastic time at Crab House on Pier 39. I even let them wander around and be tourists.
Sunday, Lauren came up and we played some Guitar Hero 2 and baked some pumpkin cake. I also fried tons of chicken for yesterday's potluck.
Speaking of yesterday's potluck, it was a success! We had tons of food and, as usual, my fried chicken went fast. Unfortunately, something didn't agree with me and I got sick. My boss drove me back to my car in Larkspur to spare me the ferry ride on an upset stomach.
Tomorrow, I get to cook butternut squash risotto for Thanksgiving at the in-laws' house.
I really miss my family this time of year :(

Windows, Mac, Linux - What's your preference and why?
Submitted by ramblingsbymark.
I'm a multiplatform kinda girl. I see the benefits and downsides to all the OSes, and I'll run any of them based on what they do best.
For example, since I am a gamer, I have to have a Windows-based PC. However, my webserver is running Linux. I've owned a Mac before for graphics work.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live? Why?

Right where I am now, though I'd probably own a house.
How did you pick your Vox name? Does it mean something?

Back in the old BBS days, I went by Shadowcat on the local boards. When the internet became more popular, I found Shadowcat was far too common. A Japanese-speaking friend of mine always called me "KageNeko" - Japanese for Shadowcat. I took that moniker instead and it's stuck for a good 7 or 8 years now.
As for my cooking blog, Yummy., well, that's self-explanatory.
What is your favorite scent?
Submitted by Erinen.
It depends on my mood, really.
I love the smell of cinnamon and cloves and apple in the fall.
Sometimes, I adore the smell of onions and garlic sauteeing.
Then, there's the smell of brownies baking.
Did you dress up today? See any good costumes?
I kinda dressed up. I didn't go all out like I usually do. I just wore kitty ears and kitty makeup.
Sadly, most of the costumes I've seen in SF today were pretty lame and there were very few of them.

I hear that! LOL! If or first kiss was too perfect, then why need more kisses after that? LOL. Nah,... read more
